SUISUN CITY — Residents can sound off Tuesday at the Planning Commission meeting about a proposed project believed to be the city’s first major industrial project.
The site is currently located within unincorporated Solano County and would need to be annexed into the city by the Solano Local Agency Formation Commission and will require various other city approvals before it can begin construction.
The Highway 12 Logistics Center project, proposed by Sacramento-based Buzz Oates Inc., plans to construct more than 1.2 million square feet of new industrial space south of Highway 12 and north of Cordelia Road, fronting both sides of Pennsylvania Avenue.
Buzz Oates Inc. in a letter to the city in December noted the project shows more than $500 million in ongoing economic impact. It also noted there would be $145 million in one-time construction impacts and 775 one-time construction jobs.
“Buildout of the Highway 12 Logistics Center must not only be strategic in planning for the present, but ultimately the future,” the letter reads. “The developer expects to invest significant capital in the city of Suisun City spanning the course of multiple decades, which will result in significant employment opportunities for the community.”
Six new buildings are planned to be built in multiple phases over the years, subject to market conditions.
The meeting is at 6 p.m. at City Council chamber, 701 Civic Center Blvd. Seating is limited. The meeting can also be viewed on the Zoom teleconference platform.
Written comments are due prior to May 3 and should be mailed to John Kearns, senior planner of Suisun City, 701 Civic Center Blvd., Suisun City, CA 94585.
