The groups that connect organ donors with waiting recipients vow to work with the Biden administration to implement a Trump-era rule meant to increase organ donations and transplants by requiring more accountability and better performance from these 57 organ procurement organizations.
After lobbying against the new rule and calling for it to be rewritten, Joe Ferreira, president of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations, said in a statement to Bloomberg Law that the group has “always supported improvement to our organ donation and transplantation system and endorse the direction of the new CMS rule.”
