Reverse Auctions and the Automotive Industry (Q&A)

A Keynote Address to 200 senior automotive industry executives

This is my first keynote address regarding my research between 1998 and 2003 in terms of developing web-based procurement solutions utilizing an agent versus equation-based model.

In my opinion, the Q&A session following the presentation was most interesting and controversial in that it reflected the level of antagonism that had grown in the industry between automotive industry buyers and their suppliers (especially relating to technology and in particular reverse auctions).
